Red Cross Seeking Candidates for AmeriCorps
- The American Red Cross of Greater Columbus has renewed its grant from AmeriCorps to take our life-saving information and training directly to the citizens of Ohio and invites interested applicants to apply. Team members will participate in disaster response and preparedness activities, community disaster education and volunteer recruitment. Members will receive an educational award, living allowance, health care and training.
Central Ohioan’s can fuel hope for patients this summer through the act of rolling up their sleeve to give blood. Every day, hospital patients are in need life-saving blood for various medical treatments and not just emergencies. Those who come to give blood this summer can enter to win free gas from Marathon. Two grand prize winners will receive free gas for a year and 17 donors will win weekly drawings for $50 gas cards.
The American Red Cross of Knox County is pleased to announce it received two First Place Awards recently at the Central Ohio Blood Region’s Annual Meeting in Columbus: The "Outstanding Chapter" award and the "Excellence in Communication" award. "These awards are a reflection of the loyal volunteers, donors and partnerships that the Knox County Chapter truly treasures,” said Executive Director Kelly Brenneman.
